Frequently Asked Questions

NEWBORN SESSIONS
When is the best time to book a newborn session?
The best time to book your newborn session is anytime after your second trimester. This will ensure that I will be able to accommodate you once baby arrives. I take a limited amount of due dates each month to ensure that I can schedule baby once they arrive.
How does scheduling work?
Once you have paid your deposit and signed your contract I will record your due date. Once baby arrives I will have you get in touch with me as soon as possible and from there we will schedule the exact date of the session.
When is the best time for photos?
This is entirely up to you! Some families prefer to capture baby within the first couple of weeks while others prefer to capture baby once they have settled into life with a new little one. Whatever works for you, works for me!
Where does the newborn session take place?
All newborn sessions are now held in the comfort of your home. This allows for a relaxed and natural experience while capturing the beauty of your baby’s first days. I bring everything needed for the session, including blankets, wraps, and simple props, so you don’t have to worry about a thing.
How do we prepare our home for the session?
No need to deep clean! We’ll use soft natural light, so I’ll likely photograph in rooms with large windows. A clutter-free space in the nursery, primary bedroom, or living room works well. I’ll provide guidance before your session to help you feel prepared.
What is included in the in-home newborn session?
Your session includes 90 minutes of photography and a full gallery of beautifully edited images in both color and black & white. We’ll capture a mix of baby-only portraits, sibling moments, and family interactions, creating a collection of timeless memories.
FAMILY SESSIONS
What should we wear for our family photos?
I recommend coordinating outfits in soft, neutral tones or complementary colors. Avoid busy patterns and large logos for a timeless look. I’m happy to provide styling tips if needed!
What are mini sessions, and when are they available?
Mini sessions are seasonal, meaning they are only offered on preset dates, times, and locations throughout the year. These sessions are perfect for capturing quick, updated family photos without the time commitment of a full session.
Do we need to bring anything?
Depending on location you may want to bring a stroller or wagon so that if there is a small walk to our shooting location from the car you don’t have to carry kids or worry about anyone falling on the walk there. The other item that can be helpful on a chillier day is a blanket. This can be easily thrown over kids between shots to keep them warm without the hassle of putting a jacket on and off.
When will I get my images?
You can expect to receive your proof gallery within two to three weeks of our session. I will send out a link to your private gallery via email. You can select your images and once you have finished selecting your images I will send you a new link with your completed gallery.
What happens if it rains (snows or is smokey...)?
If it is looking like there is a chance of rain or bad weather on our scheduled day & time, I will reach out to you and we can decide if we would like to wait until closer to the time to decide or, we can reschedule. I am very flexible and try to be accommodating. I want you to love your photos, so I always leave it up to you if you prefer to wait for a better day.
Can we bring our dog?
Yes! Dogs are always welcome! I do ask that you take into consideration the time duration of our session. If we are dealing with younger kids sometimes adding a dog to the mix can take a significant amount of time to get everyone cooperating, haha. This may mean less time for other poses. I also ask that you make sure you bring a leash or something to tie up the dog so that we can get some photos without them too.
MATERNITY SESSIONS
Can my partner or other children be included?
Absolutely! Maternity sessions are a beautiful way to document this journey with your partner and older children.
When is the best time in my pregnancy for a maternity session?
I generally recommend aiming for some time between 28th and 34th week. That is typically when most women and still feeling good and the bump is bumping, ha! However, it is entirely up to you!
